Obama to Blacks: Take Off Your Bedroom Slippers; Stop Complaining

I was stunned when I watched President Obama pander to and insult Blacks at this weekend’s Congressional Black Caucus Annual Dinner in Washington After droning on for almost ten minutes about billionaires and millionaires not paying their fair share in taxes and demanding Republicans give him another $447 billion to squander on a jobs bill, Obama invoked the Civil Rights Movement.

Obama, acting like a Black minister (eye roll here), shouts to the crowd towards the end of his remarks: “Even when folks are hitting you over the head, you can’t stop marching. Even when they’re turning the hoses on you, you can’t stop . . . We’re going to march on.” Then Obama refers to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the struggles of reaching the Promised Land.

This is insulting to blacks on so many levels mainly because Blacks aren’t in a fight for equality. Blacks won equal rights in 1964. The only thing Blacks are fighting for now is a jobs and the Promised Land is steady employment because black unemployment is 16.7% almost double the national average. Of course our good president never mentioned that and frankly I doubt he even cares about it.

 

As Congressman Allen West, the lone Republican member of the Congressional Black Caucus has said many times, “the laughable hypocrisy is that [Obama’s] big black bus isn’t going into the black communities.” What Obama does care about and the reason why he spoke at the CBC dinner is because Obama’s approval rating among blacks has plunged to 58% from 83%.

Obama concluded his speech in his preacher like dialect by borrowing King’s words of pressing on: “I’m going to press on for jobs. I’m going to press on for equality . . . I expect all of you to march with me and press on. Take off your bedroom slippers, put on your marching shoes. Shake it off. Stop complaining, stop grumbling, stop crying.”

The implications here that ALL Blacks are waiting for a government handout ; all Blacks wear bedroom slippers and/or are sitting on the couch not working is despicable and demonstrates how out of touch the nation’s first BLACK president really is. Why would the nation’s first Black president make such an incendiary statement telling blacks to “take off their bedroom slippers,” which conjures up a stereotypical image of Blacks being lazy. Can you imagine Obama saying the same thing to an all white crowd in Iowa?

 

Blacks will stop complaining when the 16.7% black jobless rate, the highest in 25 years declines and when Obama is voted out of office. Liberal or Conservative, blacks should be horrified by Obama’s speech. Blacks have “equality” Mr. President what they need along with the rest of Americans is jobs. This is the most insulting rhetoric I’ve heard in a long time.

Left wing liberals are always so quick to say more Republican politicians utter racist gaffes than their liberal kin. Well, I disagree with that and for the record I condemn incendiary rhetoric from whomever the source. What liberals mean to say is the vast left wing media calls attention to Republicans when they make racist remarks but rarely if ever puts a spot light on a liberal for doing the same.

Let’s see how the liberal news media attempts to white-wash these condescending, Obama’s racially charged remarks.
